Edgebanding

Edgebanding

Our Holzher Sprint 1325 Edgebander is a fantastic piece of engineering.

With the ability to process edging from 3mm – 60mm in height and 0.5mm thick veneer – 15mm solid timber (including ABS, UPVC and High Gloss) it has virtually all edging eventualities covered.

It can process EVA and PU glues.

  • EVA glue is a hot melt which is perfect for your day to day cabinetry where moisture or heat is not involved.
  • PU glue is resistant to moisture and heat which is perfect for kitchens, bathrooms and fire doors.

Timber Processing

Our Felder planner thicknesser enables us to process and machine timber for anything from thin lippings to thick planks for joinery like tables and doors.

The spiral cutter block gives a high quality finish with only a light sand required before finishing.

Sanding & Collaboration

Sanding & Calibration

Our twin head 1350mm wide drum Kundig Drum sander has 2 grit papers.

The first head allows us to calibrate panels by a tenth of a millimetre for unprecedented accuracy.

The second head allows us to sand timber and veneered panels also by a tenth of a millimetre where accuracy is critical.

Veneering

Veneers require cutting before processing so we have a 3.1 metre guillotine and a 1.2 metre guillotine to do this.

The jointing process is performed by a stitcher which joints the veneers together to get to the required size for the job. Bonding of the veneers to the substrate is carried out by our 3.1 metre x 1.5 metre hot press.

Edge detailing on wooden panel

Machining – Finger pulls and edge details

Some panels may require machining for finger pulls or edge details.

To machine edges of the panels we have the option of using our Wadkin spindle moulder or hand routers.

Boring and drilling

Where a job requires it, we can machine panels to help aid our customers with self assembly and fitting themselves.

Providing panels with exact location pre cut hinge holes, shelf pin holes, grooves for lighting, grooving for running gear and many more helps reduce time on site and eliminate the risk or finished panels getting damaged.

Spray finish on wood panel

Spraying

With our in house spray booth we can spray finish your panels to your required finish. This can be clear lacquer or a paint colour finish in either solvent or water based products.

We work with the leading manufacturers of finishing products and use the highest quality paints and lacquers on the market. These can also be colour matched to the likes of the ‘Farrow and ball’ and ‘Paint and paper library’ pallet.

Making and fitting

We manufacture the furniture as much as we can in our workshop first to make sure everything comes together as it should. This helps save time on site reducing disruption in your home and also alleviates the risk of damaging items on site where sometimes space can be restricting.

Finally we bring everything to your home well packaged to be assembled and fitted and leave you you enjoy your new bespoke item.
